Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 spied with touring accessories

- Himalayan 450 spotted with panniers and top box

- Expected to be launched towards the end of this year

- Prices might start from Rs. 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom)

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will undoubtedly be one of the biggest two-wheeler launches of this year. While the wait for the bike is about 3-4 months long, it has been spotted multiple times till now, revealing quite a bit. Although the latest spy shot doesn’t reveal anything new, it gives us a glimpse of the optional touring accessories that’ll be offered with the motorcycle.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan'>Himalayan 450 test mule was sighted with panniers on both sides along with a top box. Clearly, these were lockable metal storage cases which offer protection from theft and extreme weather. Notably, similar side panniers and top box are available for the existing Himalayan 411 as a part of Royal Enfield’s official GMA (Genuine Motorcycle Accessory) catalogue. As per our experience, these cases are quite spacious and sturdy.

Now, coming to the details we are already aware of, the Himalayan 450 will come equipped with modern features like a full-LED lighting system, USB charging port, and a round fully-digital console, perhaps with Bluetooth connectivity. Powering the bike will be a contemporary 450cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that is likely to make close to 40bhp and 45Nm. Similar to the existing Himalayan 411, it will continue to ride on a 21-17-inch spoke wheel combination along with upside-down forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking is handled by a single disc at both ends with dual-channel ABS.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is expected to be officially launched towards the end of this year with an expected starting price tag of around Rs 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will compete against the KTM 390 Adventure, Yezdi Adventure, and BMW G310 GS.
